MEDIUM BIO
Ross O’Lochlainn is a former engineer (two degrees: Mechanical & Civil) turned business creativity coach. He helps creative founders make a bunch more money — and have way more fun — by helping them make things they love to make and other people love to buy.
His specialty: working with successful creative founders who want to re-ignite their creative edge by unlocking their dormant Creative Motherf*ckery: the merging of their Artistic Expression + Commercial Production to create superior results.
The goal: tons more profit, fun, and meaning as they become energized to ship Soul-Driven Work (instead of Machine-Driven Content) that places them as a category leader that their audience admires — and their competition fears.
He runs his own business using the Creative Mofo Model: two days of delivery, three days of whitespace, $50K/month in profit, no sales calls, no launches — just him and his wife living the good life, where he trains Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu every day.
LONG “FIRST-PERSON” BIO
Hi, I’m Ross O’Lochlainn — proud Irishman and Canadian citizen, living in Montréal, Québec.
I’m a former engineer (two degrees: Mechanical & Civil) turned business creativity coach.
I help creative founders make a bunch more money — and have way more fun — by helping them make things they love to make and other people love to buy.
Many founders build successful businesses, but somewhere along the way they lose their creative edge. The joy disappears, The Work starts feeling like an uninspired drag — and, ultimately, their sales performance drops.
What killed it? Usually a combination of friction, complexity, and other people’s priorities that slowly crept in and smothered their creative spark. Where they either:
- Delegated their voice (to teams or tools), where it became diluted, causing shame.
- The business drifted toward pure commercialism (all money, no soul) — killing their joy and spark.
- Structure crept up around them, and the business unintentionally smothered their outlets for creative expression.
And so they feel stuck. Things look successful enough on paper from the outside, but sales performance lags and they (secretly) feel creatively dead inside.
The answer: Unlocking their dormant Creative Motherf*ckery: the merging of the founder’s capacity for Artistic Expression + Commercial Production to create superior creative output.
What I’ve discovered is that Art (real art, not aesthetics) is the essential component to the most effective business creativity.
And the founders who will win in this post-AI era are those who embrace Soul-Driven Work, instead of Machine-Driven Content. Those who become prolific, shipping work and building a World that feels distinctly their own, instead of work that’s been diluted through AI-imitation.
Creative Motherf*ckery is the most profitable (and enjoyable) form of creativity I’ve ever found.
Personally, I run my business using the Creative Mofo Model. Two days of delivery. Three days of whitespace. $50K/month in profit. No sales calls. No launches. Just a tiny lean team of me and my wife.
I train BJJ every day, vibe code software on the side, and make music when I feel like it.
If you’d like to see the sorts of results that Creative Motherf*ckery can produce for others, check out some of the case studies here.
And if you’d like to get started with discovering your own CMF journey, check out some of the tools and resources here: link.
Understand: The Work doesn’t have to feel like a drag. It can feel like yours again. And making it so is the best thing you can do for your business performance.
