Conversion Engineering LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates The Channel application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Content Data
- Documents, notes, and writing content you create
- Campaign planning information (titles, dates, product details)
- Email drafts and marketing content
Account Credentials (Optional)
When you choose to connect third-party services, we store:
- ActiveCampaign API credentials
- Kit (ConvertKit) API credentials
- Ontraport API credentials
- Keap (Infusionsoft) OAuth tokens
- Basecamp OAuth tokens
- Image hosting API keys
- Custom webhook URLs for print integrations
These credentials are stored securely in the iOS Keychain and may sync via iCloud Keychain to your other devices.
Information Collected Automatically
Crash Reports and Diagnostics
We use Sentry for crash reporting and performance monitoring. This service collects:
- Device type and operating system version
- App version and build number
- Crash logs and stack traces
- Performance metrics
- IP address (for geographic aggregation only)
We do NOT collect screenshots, view hierarchies, or detailed user interaction data.
iCloud Sync Data
If you enable iCloud, your documents and app data sync through Apple’s CloudKit service. This data is:
- Encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
- Subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy
- Stored in your personal iCloud account
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number) unless you provide it in your content
- Location data
- Contact lists
- Browsing history
- Advertising identifiers
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
1. Provide Core Functionality
- Store and sync your documents across devices
- Enable writing, editing, and content organization features
2. Enable Third-Party Integrations
- Send and schedule emails through your email marketing platforms (ActiveCampaign, Kit, Ontraport, Keap)
- Export content to your Basecamp projects
- Host images for email delivery
- Trigger print workflows via webhooks
3. Improve App Stability
- Identify and fix crashes
- Monitor app performance
- Debug technical issues
Third-Party Services
When you connect optional integrations, your data is shared with these services:
ActiveCampaign
When you schedule emails, we send:
- Email content (HTML and plain text)
- Email subject lines
- Sender information
- Selected mailing list IDs

Image Hosting
When you include images in scheduled emails, images are uploaded to a hosting service for delivery. Images are hosted only for the purpose of email delivery.
Sentry
Crash reports and diagnostics are sent to Sentry. Subject to Sentry’s Privacy Policy
Apple iCloud
Document sync uses Apple’s CloudKit. Subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy
Custom Webhooks (Zapier, etc.)
If you configure print webhooks, document titles and callback URLs are sent to your specified webhook endpoints.
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
Your documents are stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
iCloud Sync
When enabled, data syncs via Apple’s CloudKit with end-to-end encryption.
Keychain
Sensitive credentials (API keys, OAuth tokens) are stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-backed encryption.
Data Retention
- Your content remains on your device and in iCloud until you delete it
- Crash reports are retained by Sentry for 90 days
- We do not maintain separate copies of your content on our servers
Your Rights and Choices
Disable iCloud Sync
You can disable iCloud sync in iOS Settings to keep data local only.
Disconnect Integrations
You can disconnect third-party services at any time in App Settings. This removes stored credentials.
Delete Your Data
Uninstalling the App removes all local data. To remove iCloud data, use Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage.
Opt Out of Crash Reporting
Contact us to opt out of crash reporting.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by other means.
